We get up with the morning light.
We bounce up with a new day.
My folks my bro and I we smile bright
as together we stretch tall and say
This will be our best day ever!
We won’t quit, no never!
For our cause is good and just
Our game is open, our path is trust.
It will be a good day;
we will find the way.

For breakfast I might have a smoothie and eggs.
I don’t drink coffee but my parents do.
Out the door we sit to watch a spider with skinny legs
as it wanders over grass blades bent by dew
At school I am ready to listen, nod, and learn
I have a lot of good-behavior energy to burn
And when the day’s all done I will go back home
and my family will be there and will want to know
about my day, what I learned, and who did what silly thing
And maybe somewhere in time we can fit a video where sings
a funny fuzzy monster or shaggy dog or some wild thing.
If there’s time before bed time.
